“Collateral Damage” is an artist catalog by Julia Emslander published in early 2024.

Here, the artist presents monochrome works created between 2019 and 2023.

The fold-out glossy cover, the open thread binding with raw paper application on the edge, and the change from glossy to matte paper reflect the materiality of Emslander’s artworks.

In the middle of the book is an interview with renowned painting restorer Dr. Kathrin Kinseher. Further texts are by art historian Dr. Tatjana Schäfer, perception psychologist Dr. Lioba Enk, and conceptual artist Berk Tuncer.
